About The Rising Oaks Community
In January 2024, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity broke ground on its most ambitious housing development since 1983.
Rising Oaks will have approximately 150 units—a mix of one, two, three, and four-bedroom single-family homes for seniors and low-moderate income families, essential members of New Orleans’ local workforce including educators, first responders, healthcare workers and government employees.
Rising Oaks is ideally positioned to serve as a driver in creating a more inclusive housing market in the New Orleans area.
A central tenet of Rising Oaks is green space and thoughtfully designed community features. Rising Oaks will be built on the site of a former golf course, approximately 40 acres bounded by commercial thoroughfares and canals.

About FitLot
FitLot is a New Orleans based national non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping communities find the resources they need to plan, build and program outdoor fitness parks.
FitLot is thrilled to be supporting the New Orleans Area Habitat For Humanity in their efforts to create access to an outdoor fitness park and playspace for the residents of Rising Oaks.
The FitLot Fitness Park and Playground will be the centerpiece of this community and will ensure a stronger future for the individual residents and for the community as a whole.
This park and playground will be located at Rising Oaks but donated to the Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department so that non rising oak residents can also enjoy the facilities and engage with this community.

About the Greater New Orleans FitLot Network Initiative
After organizing the donation, construction and activation of FitLot Fitness Parks in all 50 States, the USVI and Puerto Rico, FitLot has been working to help the City of New Orleans create equitable access to outdoor fitness spaces city wide. The Rising Oaks FitLot project will be part of an ongoing city wide initiative. To date FitLot has raised nearly $1,000,000 to support the construction of 5 outdoor fitness parks in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish. We believe a FitLot in the Rising Oaks community will directly serve the residents of the Rising Oaks community but will also be the first of it’s kind on the Westbank and become a destination park for the wider community.
Sponsorship Benefits
Sponsoring a FitLot Outdoor Fitness Park makes a statement that you are truly dedicated to the long term health of the community you serve. People will interact with these public spaces multiple times a week to improve their health and quality of life for the next 20 years.
Logo Recognition and Custom Colors
The welcome sign, safety surfacing, and shade canopy all provide opportunities for sponsor recognition and logo placements.
In addition, park equipment can feature a custom color palette to match the branding of the sponsor.
Public Relations
Over the last two years, our Community Build Days, Ribbon Cuttings, and ongoing activation of the parks have all been well covered by news media outlets throughout the country.
In an 18-month period, the AARP FitLot Initiative was picked up by 98 different media outlets across America with a potential reach of over 65 million people. Along with print and online news outlets, almost half of these earned media hits were via local broadcast television news.
We’ve also had broad social media engagement by Mayors and other elected officials, parks and recreation department pages, FitLot coaches and users all across the country.
