Addressing persistent inequities
America suffers from lifestyle-related, preventable illnesses more than any other country in the developed world. The United States spends about $3.5 trillion on healthcare annually, and an estimated $1 trillion of that goes to treating preventable conditions.
Communities impacted by poor health outcomes often lack the necessary resources to expand access to active spaces and provide robust community programming. As a result of these challenges, too many of our communities struggle to address significant public health considerations.
FitLot exists to help bridge these gaps.
Coordinating for impact
FitLot connects donors with communities. As hands-on organizer for each FitLot park project, we start by working with local partners to identify high-impact locations. Once funding is secured, we facilitate the donation and installation of the equipment. After a park has officially opened, we support the local partner’s efforts to activate the park with free community classes.
Connecting funding with need
The title sponsor of each FitLot project is making a statement that their company is truly dedicated to the long term health of the community. People will interact with these spaces multiple times a week to improve their health and quality of life for many years to come. Together, FitLot and sponsoring entities work with partner cities to create more equitable access to outdoor fitness parks in communities where there’s an apparent need for investment in active public spaces.
Honoring long-term investments
Each FitLot Fitness Park is a community monument that will draw in residents every day to get active, connect with neighbors, and proactively care for their health. Each FitLot sponsor is helping strengthen people and their communities for decades to come. A FitLot is an incredibly impactful gift for any community to receive and serves as a signal of long-term support for that community.
Logo Recognition and Custom Colors
The welcome sign, safety surfacing, and shade canopy all provide opportunities for sponsor recognition and logo placements. In addition, park equipment can feature a custom color palette to match the branding of the sponsor.
Public Relations
FitLot Community Build Days, Ribbon Cuttings, and ongoing activation of our parks have all been well covered by news outlets throughout the country. Along with print and online, almost half of these earned media hits were via local broadcast television news.
