About Foster Memorial Park
“Originally established by a 50 year lease in 1975 by the Prescott Foster Family & the Lafayette Parish Police Jury so that the Village of Youngsville could have a park. Foster Park was managed by Lafayette Parish until July 2020, at that time Youngsville assumed the lease terms until today.”
The location for the potential FitLot in Foster Park is in a low-income area that has direct access to a trail system that connects thousands of residents throughout Youngsville.

What Exactly Is A FitLot?
A FitLot is an outdoor fitness park thoughtfully designed by exercise physiologists for all ages and abilities. Similar in size to a playground each FitLot is shaded, safety surfaced and features 11 pieces of equipment. With open floor space and attachment points for resistance bands, park users can perform dozens of exercises at their FitLot for cardio, balance, flexibility and strength training. The options are endless.
FitLot makes the benefits of indoor exercise training free and accessible to everyone in the community. Movable Strength and Cardio Training Elements replicate the benefits of several pieces of commonly found indoor fitness equipment and makes them available for outdoor use.
Creating opportunities for community members to learn how to use their FitLot is critical and we’re here to help your local parks and recreation team set up their FitLot programs. We strive to see every FitLot activated with free community fitness programs.
The unique FitLot Method Circuit Training Program leverages the park as a whole and includes an activation platform featuring instructional exercise videos, circuit training planning guides, and training programs for local fitness professionals to become FitLot Neighborhood Coaches and run no cost classes for the community.

The welcome sign, safety surfacing, and shade canopy all provide opportunities for sponsor recognition and logo placements.
In addition, park equipment can feature a custom color palette to match the branding of the sponsor.
Public Relations
Over the last two years, our Community Build Days, Ribbon Cuttings, and ongoing activation of the parks have all been well covered by news media outlets throughout the country.
In an 18-month period, the AARP FitLot Initiative was picked up by 98 different media outlets across America with a potential reach of over 65 million people. Along with print and online news outlets, almost half of these earned media hits were via local broadcast television news.
We’ve also had broad social media engagement by Mayors and other elected officials, parks and recreation department pages, FitLot coaches and users all across the country.
